ABOUT SEAN

Born in Washington DC, Sean’s parents moved to Cearfoss, Maryland where Sean attended Maugansville Elementary. After his parents divorced, he grew up in Charlotte NC region and resided in South Carolina. In the 10th grade, Sean attended South Hagerstown High School while living with his father in Hagerstown. Sean graduated the University of South Carolina in 2008, getting a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History, becoming a Gamecock, and joined the Army National Guard shortly after.

Sean became a Defense Contractor in 2014 and has worked on various contracts within DoD and the Pentagon and even working for the Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. Sean moved back to Hagerstown in 2021 because of the beautiful mountains, low cost of living, and slower pace of life. Sean lives in the north end of Hagerstown with his dog Zelda. Sean ran his neighborhood's watch group, Dewey Central and has been running the meetings since 2023. Sean was appointed to the City's Planning Commission in 2023.

Sean Flaherty decided Hagerstown needed more and ran for Hagerstown City Council in 2024 and won. Sean is running for State Delegate because he believes that lower taxes, public safety, and economic development are the cornerstone to a safe city and state. While on City Council, Sean has voted against all tax increases, championed the anti-camping ordinance, increased funding for public safety and police.
